Managing Director First Data Hellas and Regional Manager CEE and SEE
Espen Tranoy is currently Managing Director of First Data Hellas (Greece). In this role, he exercises the overall control and supervision of all activities of the company and drives change within the organization.
Since joining First Data in 2005, Mr. Tranoy has held a number of significant roles. He has spent time developing the business in Eastern Europe, integrating APSS to First Data Austria and aiding in the establishment of First Data -CEE headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Mr. Tranoy has also held responsibility for the Nordic market and mergers and acquisitions.
Before joining First Data, he co-founded EuroProcessing International, a payments processor specializing in Eastern European card payments and transactions. Within five years the company grew from one to 13 countries. Mr. Tranoy worked as regional manager in Central and Eastern Europe, concentrating on mergers, acquisitions and business development. In 2005 the company was acquired by First Data.
In 2007, Mr.Tranoy was regional manager for First Data for Eastern Europe, establishing regional headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Specializing in acquisitions, Mr. Tranoy was the lead manager for notable acquisitions including the acquisition of Polcard, today known as First Data Poland; American Express Merchant Services Poland; and the sale of First Data Austria PayLife to SIX Group.
Espen holds a degree from Norwegian School of Business Administration in IT and personnel management. He speaks English, French, German and Norwegian and currently studies Russian and Greek.
